Jonathan watched Victoria stretch so far and wide that for a moment he thought her chest would surely pop all those lovely buttons he’d had the pleasure of touching the day before.
“Morning Ms. Victoria.” Jack’s smile reached from the canyon to the valley. “Sleep well enough last night?”
“Jack, it was a cold, hard ground and I slept beautifully.”
Jonathan observed her as she talked to his friend. He was perceptive and if he was a betting man, he was willing to place a wager that the young woman probably spent several nights with the ground as her bed and the sky as a blanket. If she slept well, then it may have been because there were several strong men in camp just ready to protect her if needed and that’s why sleep came gently.
